Light Emitting Converters (LECs)

Light Beam’s patented LEC material is a unique polymer-based substance which is able to wavelength shift through a photoptic process of absorption and emission in the cross-linked plastic material. The shorter wavelengths of light from the solid state emitting source are completely absorbed, or in part if so desired, and re-emitted as light at longer wavelengths.

The LEC material has been used in many different custom applications, and Light Beam is now working on a production process to make the material available in rods, sheets, injection molded or cast shapes. The material can also be machined.

LEC material can be tuned to specific wavelengths in the color spectrum and the concentrations can be tailored to exact specifications. Please refer to the press releases for other specifics on this material.
